General terms & conditions

1. General
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made with VIScovery, operated by Costiera d.o.o., Luka 54, Rukavac, 21480 Vis, Croatia. By submitting a reservation enquiry and making an advance payment, the Guest confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms in full.

VIScovery organises all-inclusive active holiday weeks on the island of Vis, Croatia. The programme includes accommodation, meals, guided activities, equipment and island transfers as described on the website viscovery.hr.

2. Reservation & confirmation
Reservation enquiries are accepted via the website enquiry form, by email to viktorija@viscovery.hr, or by phone at +385 91 905 8410.

A reservation is confirmed once VIScovery has issued a written booking confirmation and the Guest has paid the advance payment within the required time period. No booking is considered confirmed until both conditions are met.

To confirm a reservation, the Guest is required to provide: full names and dates of birth of all participants, preferred arrival date, number of adults and children, and room type preference.

3. Prices & payment
All prices are stated in Euros (€) and are per person unless otherwise specified. The price includes accommodation, all meals and non-alcoholic drinks, all guided activities listed in the programme, all equipment rental, and all island transfers.

The price does not include: flights to Croatia, travel insurance, personal spending, optional extras not listed in the programme, or gratuities.

Payment terms:

–  A deposit of 30% of the total booking value is required to confirm the reservation.

–  The remaining 70% is due on arrival at the property.

–  Payment is accepted by bank transfer. Details are provided with the booking confirmation.

In the event that a price change occurs after the enquiry but before the deposit is paid, VIScovery will notify the Guest immediately and provide a revised calculation. Once the deposit has been paid, the price is guaranteed.

4. Cancellation by the Guest
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to viktorija@viscovery.hr. The date of cancellation is the date VIScovery receives written notification.

The following cancellation charges apply:

–  More than 56 days before arrival: deposit is forfeited; balance (if already paid) is refunded in full.

–  29–56 days before arrival: 50% of the total booking value is charged.

–  15–28 days before arrival: 75% of the total booking value is charged.

–  14 days or fewer before arrival: 100% of the total booking value is charged.

The deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances. VIScovery strongly recommends that all guests take out travel insurance that includes cancellation cover. Optional cancellation insurance is available through Erste osiguranje at 10% of the total booking value, payable with the deposit.

If a Guest fails to arrive on the booked date without prior written notice, the booking is treated as a no-show and no refund is offered.

5. Changes to a booking
Date changes requested more than 56 days before arrival may be transferred to another available week in the same season at no additional charge, subject to availability. Date changes within 56 days of arrival are treated as a cancellation.

Transfers of a booking to another person are permitted with VIScovery’s written agreement, at least 28 days before arrival. An administration fee of €50 applies.

6. Cancellation or changes by VIScovery
VIScovery reserves the right to make changes to the programme in the event of unforeseen circumstances or force majeure. Force majeure includes events beyond the reasonable control of VIScovery, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, war, government travel restrictions, or death of a service provider.

If VIScovery is required to cancel a booking, the Guest will be notified as early as possible and offered either: a transfer to an equivalent available week, or a full refund of all payments made, processed within 14 working days.

VIScovery is not liable for costs incurred by the Guest in preparation for travel, including flights, visas, or travel insurance premiums, in the event of a cancellation due to force majeure.

7. Activities & safety
All activities included in the programme are guided by qualified local guides. Participation in any activity is at the Guest’s own risk. VIScovery’s guides have the final authority on all safety decisions and their judgement is final.

The minimum age for independent participation in water activities (kayaking, cliff jumping, snorkelling) is 8 years. Children under 8 may participate in certain activities with a parent or guardian.

Guests are required to inform VIScovery of any health conditions, physical limitations or dietary requirements at the time of booking. VIScovery will make reasonable efforts to accommodate these, but cannot guarantee full programme participation for all guests in all circumstances.

No refund is offered for activities a Guest chooses not to participate in, or for activities the Guide deems unsafe for a specific Guest.

8. Guest obligations
The Guest is obliged to:

–  Hold valid travel documents for entry to the Republic of Croatia.

–  Comply with Croatian customs and foreign exchange regulations.

–  Respect the house rules of the accommodation and the conduct guidelines provided at check-in.

–  Report any damage to the property immediately to VIScovery and cover the cost of repair or replacement.

–  Follow the instructions of VIScovery’s guides during all activities.

–  Behave in a manner that does not endanger or disturb other guests or local residents.

Guests who behave in a manner that is dangerous, disruptive or damaging to other guests, staff or the property may be asked to leave without refund.

9. Check-in & check-out
Check-in is from 14:00 on the arrival date (Saturday). Check-out is by 10:00 on the departure date (Saturday). Keys are handed over at the property by a VIScovery representative. Early check-in or late check-out may be arranged subject to availability.

10. Luggage & personal property
VIScovery is not responsible for the loss, damage or theft of personal belongings inside or outside the accommodation. Lost or stolen items should be reported to VIScovery and, where appropriate, to the local police.

11. Complaints
If a Guest is dissatisfied with any aspect of the service, they must report it immediately to VIScovery, in writing where possible, to allow the issue to be resolved during the stay. Complaints submitted after departure without prior notification on-site cannot be considered for compensation.

If a complaint cannot be resolved during the stay, the Guest may submit a written complaint to viktorija@viscovery.hr within 8 days of departure. VIScovery will respond within 14 days.

12. Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia. In the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved through direct communication, the competent court is the Commercial Court in Split.

  1. Acceptance

By making an advance payment, the Guest confirms that they have read and accepted these General Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
